Emerald Valley Care is contracted by Oregon Department of Disability Services and Aging and People with Disabilities to provide behavior consultation services and training. Our services utilize Positive Behavior Support, which is a set of research-based strategies that increase quality of life and decrease challenging behavior by teaching new skills and/or making changes in a person’s environment. These practices are based on philosophies of person-centered care, self-empowerment, and autonomous decision-making.
We specialize in traumatic brain injuries. Our Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS) creates individualized plans which recognize the unique needs of those recovering from or impacted by brain injury.
These plans and documents are developed using observation, interviews, record review, and environmental evaluations.
These are available for individuals, families, teams, and agencies.
Oregon Intervention System (OIS): EVC offers OIS-G (general) and OIS-C (crisis) 2-day training workshops. OIS is Oregon’s system of training to implement the principles of Positive Behavior Support and Intervention for staff who support adults and children with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) that may display challenging behaviors. OIS helps to understand, prevent, and respond to challenging behavior.
