Behavior that can be viewed as unproductive, unwanted, dangerous, or even illegal behaviors and often lead to restrictive measures. These behaviors often interfere with ADLs and iADLs.

  • This is an evidence-based set of practices developed and based on philosophies of person-centered care, self-empowerment and autonomous decision-making. It is a holistic approach that encompasses various domains that are relevant within that individual’s life, including communication style & strategies, relationships, environment, preferred activities & routines.
  • NCDs are characterized as having a decline in cognitive function, from a previously attained level of functioning. Etiologies related to cognitive decline often include but are not limited to, traumatic brain injuries and dementia (Alzheimer’s, Vascular, Frontotemporal, Lewy Body, and other).
